During March 2010, our students participated in an exciting project!
They learned about the origin and history of Renaissance masks and then sculpted their own design from paper mache'. Once sculpted and dried they mounted their mask on gallery wrapped canvas. After painting the mask and canvas, with acrylic paint, they then decorated the masks with items provided by nature; peacock feathers, emu feathers, leaves, rocks, tree bark, seashells, etc. Decorative glass beads and touches of fabric were then added as the final touch of pizazz! Each mask is as unique as the individual student. See the remakable results.....
